What you will do

  • Responsible for administration of the monitoring environment
  • Responsible for support of the network cases at CANCOM's Premium Support Center
  • Troubleshooting in the Incident process on 2nd or 3rd level
  • Remote analysis and resolution of incidents, changes and problems
  • Definition of thresholds and reactive alerting
  • Maintenance and development of monitoring check and documentation
  • Automatically generate reports from system information and logs
  • Use tools to perform trend analysis for systems and problems
  • Monitor events, errors, and debug log analysis to generate reports and analyze root causes
  • Work closely with colleagues in other areas for further optimization
  • Evaluate new products and solutions

Who you are

  • Completed professional training in the IT environment and/or comparable professional experience
  • Knowledge in the area of routing / switching as well as firewalling
  • Solid expertise in network environment with one of the vendors (Cisco, Extreme Networks, HPE/Aruba)
  • Proven expertise in monitoring infrastructure management
  • Proven experience in creating automated and manual reports in tools
  • Strong experience in performing design/implementation/upgrades for monitoring infrastructure
  • Good experience in writing scripts
  • Experience configuring interfaces between monitoring service components and data sources
  • Preparation of documentation on infrastructure design, quality standards, testing procedures, and other key project information
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Customer focus, problem solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong sense of responsibility, stress resistance, and effective communication and presentation skills
  • Availability to resolve urgent issues outside of business hours
  • Willingness to work weekends, shifts and on-call duty
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
